UART #2 in PIC16F18857
PostPosted: Tue Apr 21, 2026 9:29 am     Reply with quote

Hi,
PIC16F18857 says the uc has a second (UART2) available, however the 16F18857 file only defines TX1 & RX1 for PPS.
could anyone help me or tell me if there's a way to define TX2 & RX2 ports for a second UART communication?

Thanks!

i saw the same, but in several places Microchip gives this information, i suppose Datasheet is always right and overrules all other info in MCP site.

Where do MicroChip 'give this information'????
I'd suspect you are looking at some of the generic stuff covering the whole
'family'. A lot of these sheets are for all the models of a particular range,
so will talk about multiple UART's, where some chips have these, but it
is up to you to verify what exists for your specific chip in the family.
