Does anyone know the correct syntax for using DATA keyword i
PostPosted: Thu Jan 30, 2003 3:42 am     Reply with quote

I'm using PCH on a PIC18F452 and I need to insert some data in an ASM section. What is the correct syntax for using the DATA directive? I want to insert 0xFFFF immediately following some instructions but I can't get the compiler to accept it. The website says that v3.139 supports it.
I've tried:
data 0xFFFF
data 65535
data 0xFF,0xFF
data 255,255

The compiler returns the error "Expecting an identifier"

What else can I try?

thanks,

Regan.

Historically, CCS hasn't supported assembler directives
in #asm blocks. But they must be reading this board (or
you emailed them), because it's in vs. 3.138:
