MPLAB or PCWH? Please help.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 18, 2006 1:01 pm     Reply with quote

I am new to PICC but am fairly familiar with MPLAB. I'm about to start on my first project with C and was wondering what the preferred programming environment is?

If I understand correctly, I can program with C in MPLAB and use the MBLAB debug features, but I would lose a lot of the PICC-specific features from the PCWH environment.

Or, I could program in the PCWH environment, however I would have to use MPLAB for debugging with my ICD2.

The ICD2 is my only debugger, and from what I have read, I can only use it with MPLAB. Is this correct? What would be the preferred method of programming here? Thanks for your input.
