RS-232 Problem with 3.187
PostPosted: Thu Mar 11, 2004 11:32 am     Reply with quote

Hi,

I use the version 3.184 with a PIC18F8720 25Mhz, In this project I use a UART with the follow define:
Code:

#use rs232( BAUD = 115200, PARITY = N, XMIT = PIN_C6, RCV = PIN_C7, BITS = 8, STREAM = SERIAL_2 )

The version 3.184 compile fine, but when upgrade to 3.187 the compile tell me the ERROR 96 BAUDE RATE OUT OF RANGE.

Why???????

Please send me the answer ASAP,

Thank you very much!!

Best Regards,
cfernandez

The compiler does not accept a baud rate that has more than a 3% error. We updated
our calculations so instead of rounding to the nearest percent we look at the fraction
as well. Your example has a 3.1% error. The older version was taking up to a 3.5% error.

You can still get it to compile by asking for a baud rate of 111600. There will be no error
and you will get the same baud rate as you were getting with the older version (as close
as the part can get to 115200 at 25mhz).
