CCS C and MPLAB X (5.15) [Solved]
PostPosted: Tue May 14, 2019 8:36 am     Reply with quote

I cannot get CCS C tool chain to work with MPLAB X. I have uninstalled the plug in and it shows in the build tools under options, but if I create a new project, select the device, but when I get to the select compiler, it is not shown... MPLAB 8.92 works fine.

Are you making a Standalone Project?
When I do that, CCS compiler shows up. However, if I make a Library Project, for example, CCS compiler does not show up in the list.

You are supposed to install it, not un-install it.

Link to download the MPLAB X plugin -

MPLAB X + CCS C Compiler Tutorial - Very detailed pdf file -

Youtube video - Using the CCS Plugin in MPLABX -

Using the pdf tutorial, I was able to recently make CCS vs. 5.082
(command line compilers - pcm and pch) work with MPLAB X vs. 5.15.

Oops... that was a bad typo... I installed it is what it meant to say. I have followed the PDF and it was not working.

I just tried again and now it suddenly is working... no idea what I did different as I have not done anything different than what I tried before I posted it, but well All is good now..

It does take time to see things. The Netbeans engine used to actually
create this does a lot of things 'in the background'. This is actually what
makes it very annoying. (on my system it finds over 60 compilers it
recognizes - despite adding rules so it should not find most of them).
I suspect it just needed a while to actually 'recognise' what it was being told...
