PIC C demo with Tutorial problem
PostPosted: Sun Jan 25, 2004 6:34 am     Reply with quote

Hi,

New to programming the PIC's and am trying to select a compiler. I downloaded the demo version and the tutorial. After installing the compiler I started the tutorial and after the first couple of steps I'm getting errors while compiling that files can not be found. The tutorial's PIC selection is for the PIC16C74A which is not available with the demo version.

Is there some way I can get the tutorial operational to learn about this product?

Hi
I am not farmiliar with tutorial you are doing, but the code is extremely transportable between devices. Select a device that you are permitted to use and continue regardless is a possible solution. This should get you to the "Flashing LED" stage without any hardware problems.

Also, I had a similar problem with my full version of the compiler.

Look in the OPTIONS / INCLUDE DIRs.. menu.

I now have 2 entries
C:/Program Files/PICC/Examples
C:/Program Files/PICC/Devices

If I remember correctly, one of these lines needed to be entered before I could compile code.

PS. I have found that this is a good compiler. The wizard saves hours of time configuring devices.

Regards
