PIC18FXX20 NEW POWER MGMT MODES, ANY PRIOR EXP?
PostPosted: Wed Oct 08, 2003 6:01 pm     Reply with quote

HELLO;

I AM LOOKING AT THE 18F1320 SPECIFICALLY AT THE NEW POWER MANAGEMENT MODES USING THE INTERNAL RC. I AM INTERESTED IN HALTING THE PROCESSOR BUT KEEPING TIMER1 COUNTING AT A 31.5KHZ RATE. IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS DOABLE AND CAN REDUCE MY PART COUNT AND COST IF IT WORKS RELIABLY...WHICH BARES THE QUESTION DO ANY OF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE TO RELATE WITH CHANGING FROM RC_IDLE TO PRI_RUN?

ALSO, DO YOU THINK THAT CCS SHOULD PROVIDE SOME ENHANCEMENT FOR THIS AND IF SO HOW SHOULD IT BE DONE?

THANKS..

ROB

Try this...

#fuses INTRC_IO, ...

#byte OSCCON = 0xFD3

OSCCON = 0b01110000; Crystal at 8Mhz
// you can change the speed during the program running Smile
OSCCON = 0b00000000; Crystal at 32khz

I made that and it work perfectly. Wink
