ICD-U and 12F675
PostPosted: Fri Apr 11, 2003 5:37 am     Reply with quote

Hello,

...today my ICD-U unit arrived but unfortunately there comes no documentation with it:(

In the FAQ section it is described how to connect the ICD-U unit, next to MCLR, VDD, GND, B3, B6 and B7 are referred for connection.

Unfortunately on the 12Fxyz Port B doesnīt exit !

I guess that i will have to use the same pins as used for ICP and one Pin more for "advance debugging", but that doesnīt really help me....

Does anybody know how to connect the ICD-U to a 12F675 ?!?

thanks for all helpful postings !

The Microchip Data sheet for the 12F675...

Pin 4 (of PIC) /MCLR
Pin 6 ICSP Clk
Pin 7 ICSP Data

The other two are Vdd and Gnd

Have fun

..thanks, i know that already.
The Problem is i donīt know how to map the ICP Pins of the 12F675 with the B3, B6 and B7 ICU Pin. Furthermore there are 6 Pins (not 5 as used for ICP) used by the ICU, the 6th for "advanced debugging" - donīt aks me whatīs that for, i didnīt get so far...

-------------------------------------------------

They refer to B6 and B7 because these are the pins used
by the 16F877 for ICD. I've modified the chart to
help you identify the proper pins on the 12F675:

<PRE>
12F675
pin # Signal name
4 /MCLR
6 ICSP Clk ("B6")
7 ICSP Data ("B7")
</PRE>

Refer to this sheet.

I don't own it, so I can't tell you any more than what I
read on the CCS website. <a href="http://www.ccsinfo.com/icds.html" TARGET="_blank">http://www.ccsinfo.com/icds.html</a>
You should email CCS support about your questions.
