Help using timers and WDT
PostPosted: Sun Apr 04, 2004 9:43 am     Reply with quote

Hi All,

I see a lot of messages on this forum discussing the use of timers, interrupts, the WDT and the sleep command and I would like to learn more about them. I don't have a specific application in mind right now, but being able to suspend the operation of my PIC and then starting it at some point in time would greatly reduce the amount of power that is being used by my application. Also using timers and interrupts to determine when something should happen whilst doing other things would improve the capability of my designs.

Does anyone have a good sources of information for these types of application or some generic or typical code that I could learn some ideas from. Are there any good sources on the net for this type of solution.

Many thanks in advance,

Jason.

Here is a link to an application that keeps time in mS and seconds. Comunicates via MODBUS and measures several analog inputs. Source code for everything embeded is posted. Also posted are flow charts and an application to use modbus on a PC. The source can be compiled and loaded on a development board and interfaced via a serial port.
