Hello, we read that you can use the CCS Compiler in MPlab 6.4 for programming our PIC, but we can't figure it out how to use it. We don't even know how to fill the Project Wizard right. We can choose our PIC but then we don't know which Active Toolsuite and Toolsuite Contents we can use. If you have other suggestions we would be greatful if you could help us.

1. Install the CCS compiler.

2. Get the installer program for the CCS "plug-in" for MPLAB.
Here is the link.
http://www.ccsinfo.com/mplab6.exe

3. Run the mplab6.exe file.

4. Now, go start MPLAB and run the Project Wizard.
When you get to Step 2, where it says "Select a
Language Toolsuite", you need to make sure the
box that says Show all installed Toolsuites
is checked. That's the most important thing.
Then you can select the CCS compiler from the
Active Toolsuite drop-down box.

5. Then just continue with the Project Wizard.
But remember, the CCS compiler has no linker.
So you should only add one C source file to your
project. (All other files need to have an #include
line in your main C source file, to include them).
For example, if your main file is called TEST.C,
then add that one to your project when the Project
Wizard asks you to. Be sure to check the box
next to the filename. You will see that check-box
after you add the file to the project.

When you're done, compile the file by going to the Project
menu, and clicking on "Build All".
