Programming dsPIC33CK32MC102 with ICD-U80
PostPosted: Wed Mar 24, 2021 3:51 pm     Reply with quote

This is my first foray into dsPIC33 devices. I'm trying to program a dsPIC33CK32MC102 with ICD-U80 and the programmer doesn't seem to recognize the device.

Since the device only comes in SMT format, it's on a SMT to DIP carrier.
I've connected the 3 pairs of power connections with 0.1uF bypass caps, and a 10K from ~MCLR to +, all per the data sheet.

The ICD-80 is connected to MCLR, Pin 17 for PGD1 and Pin 18 for PGC1.

I'm using CCSLOAD and try to do a Read Device ID and get an error.

I've tried powering externally and via the ICD.

The ICD works fine when I go back to testing with my trusty 26K22.

What am I missing? (This device does not have a Vcap connection, so I presume that's not the problem.)

Thanks for any help,
- Jurgen
