Help with slide out window of CCS IDE
PostPosted: Sat Oct 19, 2019 10:26 pm     Reply with quote

Hi,
Sorry for such a silly question, but I did something stupid and need help.
I clicked the X on the slide out window of the Files and Projects tabs (the ones on the left side bar of the IDE. It closed both of these and removed them from the side bar.
How do I get them back?

Not silly, it is one of the most stupidly difficult things to get back!...
You have to 'cheat'.

View (from the top menu). Then about 2/3 across there is a set of four tick
boxes. Output Projects Files Identifiers. Tick them all.
Now the three windows will appear next to each other across the screen
(and the output window at the bottom).
On each of these windows there is a drawing pin symbol up next to the 'x'.
Click on each of the three drawing pins till you once again have the three
windows in the side bar. Once you have done this, go back to the View
menu, and untick the output box.

Now the reason for ticking this was I have found that if you just display
the three boxes and try to pin them back to the bar, only two will go!.
You have to have the fourth window displayed, or it won't let you put
all three of the other windows back in the bar....
Hence my comments about the ease of doing this!.

Thank you so much. I felt really stupid for closing the window only to find it had removed it.
Thank you for your help!
