I've been 'puzzled' from the start, why if you have 5.015, you wanted to get 4.130 to work?.
Presume you have 'access' to 5.015, but don't actually have it?.
Now V4, started to work quite well a little before .130, but this was around the time that several new oddities appeared. I have a gap in my 'stored versions', covering this time, which says 'there were problems I didn't like' at this time....
Have you actually tested that the chip is running at the expected speed?. The early compilers for the PIC24, often didn't handle setting the PLL properly, and code to do this was posted here at the time.
To run 'non sync', you need to select 'free run' mode. |

i do have access to it, but as you say , i dont really own it :(
eventually i'll have to give it back.
yeah i've ran it at slow speeds too, it works ok, but i wasn't expecting the wierd glitch..
i dont see "free run" in the chips include.
sync works anyways
i DID reset the PLL settings using the "setup_oscillator(OSC_RC, 140000000, 5500000);"
function... even stranger, is that i was able to "overclock" too... it worked, but any lower then strange memory and corruption would occur (which is understandable :-] )
anyways, looking at the assembly code after compile, [ of which i dont understand alaot of it ] appears to be those of setting PLL...
the project i use does't have a crystal as i needed the legs. and to be fair a crystal isn't needed right now (will use one on a 64pin PIC)
Thank you again buddy... getting the feeling that you have a room with all the PICS ever made! LOL... |
