Interfacing CAN Transceivers
PostPosted: Wed Oct 25, 2006 11:47 am     Reply with quote

Hello-

I am trying to interface my own sytem board equipped with an LT1796 transceiver with the CCS CAN Development Kit. The Kit uses Phillips Semi PCA82C251. Both systems have been configured at 125 kbps, nevertheless I can't get them to communicte.

I am using Node B in the Dev Kit as a sniffer using EXA10 (provided with the Dev Kit). When I use Node A, I can see the CAN frames reaching Node B. Nevertheless, when I use my own board, with the same firmware as node A, I can't see anything through Node B.

Is there a compatibility issue between transceivers? I have noticed that when I connect my board to de development kit, I only see fixed width square pulses both in CANH and CANL lines.

Thank you for all your help
