A debugger
PostPosted: Fri Mar 31, 2006 2:05 am     Reply with quote

I'm new in CCS compilers and I don't know how to debug my program or if I need some extra hardware.

I'm using PIC18F6720

Hm... If you can somehow download your firmware into the PIC, you don't necessarily need additional hardware to debug it. You can do a lot of debugging with LEDs and printf's to RS-232. But if you want to set breakpoints and watch variables, you would need an in-curcuit debugger (ICD) such as ICD-U40 http://www.ccsinfo.com/content.php?page=ICD.

Umm... I think that I need the second option.
I have IDC2 of Microchip. Do you think that this device is enough, or I need CCSs ICD forced?
