programming in line process
PostPosted: Mon Dec 12, 2005 3:25 pm     Reply with quote

Hello all-

We are looking at adding a programming fixture in the assembly line process and I am wondering how most of you do this. We are doing in circuit programming. Do you just program one chip at a time, or do you gang program them. Is there a suggested way to put either the CCS programmer or the QuickWriter programmer in line, i.e. through command line so that the process can be automated. Help thoughts or insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,
James

One more option you can explore is to buy them programmed. I know that you can send your file to Microchip and they'll program the PICs for you, for a fee. I don't know if this is an economically attractive option, but it would definitely save some of your (your employer's) time.

Even distributors such as Digikey will do the programming for you.

Thanks for the reply newguy. I didn't know that Digikey would program them, but that is nice to know. We aren't exactly sure what we are going to do and we are trying to figure out what all of the options are.

Thanks,

James
