Lowest consumption battery backup
PostPosted: Sun Jul 17, 2005 4:27 pm     Reply with quote

Hi everyone,
I need to add a battery backup, to a PIC that is being fed with 3.6v.
The backup battery is a TADIRAN 3.6v one.
The PIC consumption is nearly 0.2mah. Have designed a little circuit with 2 BJT, but sure a FET or MOSFET would be lot more efficient.
Question is: Does anyone have an schematic for this ?
Thanks, MARKUSA.-

1) do you need reverse battery protection?
2) have you considered using a 3V lithium (CR123A)?

Battery protection is already implemented. Batteries are 3.6v., cause there are some peripherals that need it.
MARKUSA.
