No one knows anything about VPW / J1850 / PCIBus communications ?

It looks like there are surface mount interfaces (i cant find any right now, but i think I could look harder)... But right now I'de like to find a way to do this w/o adding in any new ICs...

It looks like to get a high enough output w/o making my chip run at 6V I need to use a transistor to drive the line high for 50-120us and then another transistor for ground (since I doubt my pic will like it if I try and ground 8V into a pin)

Does this make sense to A N Y O N E ?
