Great hint. a step forward with your help. so it will depending on the vc++.net to transfer this ascII data to real data. I need to find out how.

I feel weired that when I used putc('A'); I could get the correct reading in my vc program, however, I could not get the correct reading by using printf("%u", val1); and printf("%u %u %u", val1,val2,val3);

what might happened to my vc code as shown in my last two post.

It looks like that my program only accept singal character? like 'a', 'Z',
it did not accept characters like "ab", "alsdd"; any clue?
