18LF1320 is it true?

if part is configured MCLR/A5 as digital input
with ICD2 it is possible program only once - first time.
After succeded flash program,
on next session ICD2 message Error device ID 0x00.
And is not possible reprogramming the part.

if MCLR is configured as MCLR all is OK, possible reprogram flash anytime.

is it true ?

Enjoy

Hello,

I read something about this on the PIC Micro Webring a while ago. The is a trick to get arround this problem. If I remember correctly they we briefly shorting the supply to the PIC just before programming.

YES before programming it is needed apply short glitch on power. otherwise ICD report unexpected device.
But this method is only with MCLR/A5 configured as MCLR.

I have damaged 5pcs 18F1320 with MCLR/A5 configured as A5 input.
It is not big problem, but in this app we need every pin on part and its
very complicable to redesign PCB

enjoy
