Serial Output to LCD
PostPosted: Sun May 16, 2004 7:56 pm     Reply with quote

I have a serial LCD+ from BasicX.com. I can send messages to it from a PC but when I try via the ICD-U40 I get nothing. I then routed the output from the ICD to the PC and I get my message. So, does anyone have any ideas why the ICD doesn't send messages to the LCD+ but does to the PC. Logic Level problems? Is a mystery to me. Thanks for any input.

I found a Breakout box and put it in-line. I noticed that if I turn off the DTR line, all works fine. Interesting why this is as only the TX, RX, and ground lines are connected. I'm always impressed about the miracle of how all this works. Thanks for the input.
