PIC -serial protocol
PostPosted: Thu Apr 08, 2004 2:03 pm     Reply with quote

Hi All,

I was hoping someone could clear something up:

Whilst using RS232 -PARITY ON; BAUD = 9600

Using putch() command MEANS:

one start bit (logic 1)

8 data bits

1 Parity bit (0 or 1)

1 stop bit (logic 1)

IS THIS ORDER CORRECT????

Will the above sequence be true when using:

gets()
puts()
printf()
getc()
putc()

Thank you for your time!

A start bit in RS-232 is a logic 0 (space), rest seems OK.
