Making data scanned from keypad stored to eeprom of PIC

I am new to Pic programming field, I got a problem of saving data scanned from 4x4 keypad to eeprom of pic16f877a. The main aim of this is to make user who wants to enter PIN on keypad have an access of changing it whenever he wants to. This implies the new entered PIN should replace old PIN. How could this task get performed? i will be thankful if codes will be given in C
