18F452 programing ICD/serial downloader

I have 2 chips bought at different times.
Both work fine when software programmed with microchip serial downloder.
If the older chips are programmed, without the downloader, via ICD2 they work fine but the newer chips, with the same program, have eeprom read/write issues. both chips are rev 7. Has anybody come across this problem.

Have you gone to microchips website, for ERRATA for your
pic, from microchips website.

this file displays bugs in the chips
