using ICD 1 with mplab version 6 on xp

does it have an way to get around using mplab icd1 on xp using mplab version 5 or 6. version 6 only works with icd2 on xp and icd1 works with version 5 on win 98. i want to know if i can use icd1 with xp

At the moment I'm using MPLAB 5.7 With ICD1 under XP.
It works fine; i haven't done nothig but install.

So am I would like to use MPLAB 6.x with ICD1 but I can't get this to work.
