expanding 2 input into 3
PostPosted: Sun Jan 25, 2004 6:09 am     Reply with quote

Hello
I have two inputs connected to a pic. I want to expand those two into 3
can you advise me with the chipes way of doing so?

The true is that I have 3 resistors and 3 on/off inputs.
all together: 6 !
I connected the 3 resistors to a 4052 (dual four channel multiplexer) . the fourth input of the 4052 (both x, y) has to pass a 4 stages signal to the pic througth the 4052.

the possibility of taking the 4051 is not posible

Expanded Inputs

A 74HC165 device can provide input expansion from 3 wires.

There is a driver for this device (74165.c) supplied by CCS with the code in the "Drivers" folder. Each device allows 8 inputs. They can be cascaded to give many inputs from the 3 pins.

regards
