there is. Now, when sending this 5 bytes of data, I will set the CTRL (PIN_C5) output to high. Is it true that I will set the CTRL (PIN_C5) output to low while reading incoming data? Do you need anything else?

from my fuzzy memory..
you should have #use RS-232(....... ctrl=pin_c5 ) or similar.It's in the manual..
also have a look at the CCS example program code for 'rs-485.c' or similar....
I think the compiler will create code to handle the 'ctrl' pin as needed

sadly help could have come a lot earlier if we'd KNOWN the actual hardware you're using.... seems you have a 'device' that has RS-485 so the PIC needs 'RS-485'

proper RS-485 will use a MAX485 chip and 3 biasing resistors( 120r between A and B, a pullup on A and a pull down on B ) ,check the MAX485 datasheet for values though !!
