internal touch module and pull ups
PostPosted: Sun May 01, 2022 12:32 am     Reply with quote

I had a question about the internal touch module of pic 16f723a.
Do internal pins need the external pull ups ?
There was nothing obvious about it in the datasheet.
I use 4 spring as antenna for pcb pads.
And they go straight to the micro without anything. Is this method correct?
And then I set them from within the Code.

You most definitely do not want the pullups enabled on touch pins. Touch
is a capacitive sensing technology, not resistive.
The touch behaviour is dependant on how the sense wires and the ground
changes. Very dependent on how the ground is laid out.
