Glad it's fixed !!
One test I always perform before connecting any PIC to a PC, is to 'loopback' the PC serial connection. Old school, that's a jumper betwen pins 2 and 3 of the DE-9 connector. This allows every PC keyboard keypress to be displayed onto the PC screen. This test is important now that PCs don't have real comports, just USB port so you need a 'module' between PC and PIC.
