Does that imply you don't have a chip, but an Arduino module?.
If so, this may have a 3.3v power supply built in.
yeah I know and I tried but for some reason when i plug 3 devices to my usb ports each port gives less than 5 volts (4V exactly) and I cant run the pic but that was the point yeah.
Sounds like you're drawing too much current from the USB ports. Providing the USB port is configured correctly you can get 1 amp at 5 volts all day long. The 'trick' is to confirm you have configured the USB port. I had an 'odd' situation 2-3 years ago where some 'app' reconfigured a USB port for a lower power setting !! Don't know which one but after I configured it for full power, it was fine. I've since gone back to a dedicated PC for PIC stuff...NO internet, no apps..just Windows, MPLAB and CCS compiler with NO updates allowed.

Yeah i'll take a look on the USB because there are situations when I only plug the pickit3 and sometimes the port gives me less than 5 volts.
