problems with ICDU-40 and PIC16F886
PostPosted: Tue Dec 05, 2006 8:02 am     Reply with quote

I am trying to program a new PIC16F886.

the ICD control program tells me that it is an unknown PIC12/16 device

it returns a device ID: 2062

so somethings there.

in the compiler device table editor, it has a value of 2080 for the HW device ID.

any thoughts ?

also my ICDU-40 is at firmware rev 1.39.

I cant update the firmwar to the latest "icd-images-firmware-02-11.fw"
i et silly "list index out of bounds (-1)" error

I had a reply from ccs support.

they are working on the support for the PIC16F886 family.

so at the moment dont try ICD or programming the part.

CCS sent me a new data file last week, which seems to work fine.

I have to congratulate them, they responded within a few days.
