MCP23016 I/O Expander
PostPosted: Tue Mar 11, 2003 12:13 pm     Reply with quote

Hi everyone,

I want to have more I/O for the PIC877 (33 I/O is still not enough!). The I/O expander from Microchip MCP23016 can help to add 16 more I/Os.

Any of you use this IC before? How do you control it using CCS PICC?

Regards,
Thommas

Microchip has AN245, which is an application note for this chip.
On the page for that appnote, you can download a zip file
with C source code. It's in Hi-Tech C, but it looks like it
can be easily converted to CCS.
