Undocumented function? "setup_port_a()"

Is "setup_port_a()" the same thing as "setup_adc_ports()".

I've been using setup_port_a() in the past after seeing it on some sample code.

It seems that setup_port_a() is no-where to be found in recent documentation, but it works.

Look in the .H file for your PIC, in the ADC section. CCS says
it is an alias for setup_adc_ports().
