LCD & KBD with PIC16F877A and with PORT-D

Dear Sir,

I require to drive LCD and KBD at PORT D. I am using a device PIC 16F877A. I change the CCS Default LCD and KBD driver code as below. But the only LCD works, the keyboard doesn't work. I also try to add external pullups with 10K resistor on PORT D.
but the keyboard doesn't work. what was going wrong.

Please specify me how to solve this problem. I am using a CCS compiler version 3.082.

i used a while loop for the kbd function for a project i was working on
and this solved the problem i was having. check the code for the added while ***********

the code works but goes in to the while loop and only quit from while any key is pressed. please specify me how to solve this problem

i am a newbie to microcontrollers and such, but if you are calling kbd
then don't you want to stay in the function until a key is pressed?

maybe i am missing what the problem is you are now having, can you give more details on what you want the code to do?
