It is very interesting to stir the ark and found some technological devices. Early in 80' I used to work with Pfiz_r
tomographs, since there were no memories to store so huge information, it was used -as a temporary memory- a
revolutionary high-speed Winchester (IBM) hard disk drive that could store an incredible amount of 10 Mb, the disk
unit dimentions was around 70x40x18 cm and weighted around 15 Kg with 5 hard and heavy 12" disk inside.
Once those information was collected, it was necessary to process it to obtain an image shown in a B&W CRT monitor.
Deconvolution calculations were made using hardware algorithms only made up of several boards (4 to 6) of
considerable dimensions, pure high-speed TTL (74Sxxx) all the logic boards powered by a 5V 150A switching source
and the whole system running in an enviromental of temperature controlled @15°C

Yes, I still have on one of my shelves one of the memory boards I built for
my very first computer. TTL logic, and magnetic cores. Stores 288 bytes,
over 30cm square. The whole machine had four, and drew over 30A on
the supply. Less capable than a really basic PIC.
