command line compiler
PostPosted: Sat Apr 08, 2017 4:51 pm     Reply with quote

I'm trying to automate some processes and so am trying to use the command line compiler. I read the help file on it but it seems incomplete. For example it shows a -FH option for PCH, but no option for PCW. I am not sure - maybe FH will work anyway, but no way to tell as I get an immediate error reported on line 2 of the processor include file.
My command line is like "ccsc -FH build=test.ccspjt"

The error is "18F4682.h, Line 2 unknown device type - try PCH. I thought I was trying PCH.

Any help?

Thanks, Russ

Look in the Output Window in MPLAB vs. 8.92 after it builds. It lists what it does:
Quote:
Executing: "C:\Program files\Picc\CCSC.exe" +FH "PCH_Test.c" +DF +LN -T -A +M -Z +Y=9 +EA #__18F4682=TRUE

This section in the CCS manual lista what each of those parameters does:
Quote:
Invoking the Command Line Compiler

Ok, thanks for that. I don't use MPLAB so had no idea. I'll give it a try.

Also, PCW, is the IDE (W=Windows).
It is what calls the command line compiler.

PCB
PCM
PCH
PCD are the names of the compiler modules for the different chip families.

So, 'of course' there is no option for PCW using the the command line compiler!....
