PIC24 - USB Device Not Recognized

My apologies in advance for waking up an old thread, but did anyone ever find a solution to this? I'm working with a 24FJ128GC006 now and I'm having the same problem.

I started by attempting to use the ex_usb_serial.c example file included with CCS (changing the #define for my chip appropriately in ex_usb_common.h of course). My Windows 7 PC didn't even see that a device was attached.

The problem could be anywhere, so I used the bare minimum code as posted by juliogtd. Like the rest of you described, the device connected but Windows didn't recognize it. Is there any hope for getting serial over USB to run on this PIC?

How have you got Vusb wired?.
This needs 3.3v fed in.
On these chips there is no internal Vreg to generate this line.

I've got the GC010 running without issues. Because I remembered this thread, I am manually setting up the registers. I found that what
was needed differed from what you would expect. Turning off OTGEN didn't
work. Instead you have to setup the bits as described in 19.4.1 in the data
sheet, so actually enable the OTG mode!...
With this done it was then recognised.
