Multi Master Mode I2C
PostPosted: Tue Apr 15, 2003 5:05 am     Reply with quote

Hello,
I have the the Problem that two or more PIC16F877 should communicate with each other using I2C.
But I don't know how I can realize the arbitation needed for multi master mode and how I can switch the pic between master and slave mode.

Does anybody have a solution for this problem?
An example code would be helpfull.

Thanks for your reply
Thomas

Before venturing an opinion, may I ask why you want to use multi-master if only two devices are involved? Are there other slaves shared by these masters? Could you describe the bus topology more fully?

There can be up to 8 Pic's whitch should communicate with each other.
I want to read the data from the Pic with an PC using RS232.
By connecting the PC at an arbitrary Pic I should have to communicate with every Pic. Another reason why I want to realize it this way is, that I can program every Pic with the same program.
Thanks for reply.
