I was curious, so downloaded a manual...I think the internals are running at 3 volts as it will operate from 3.5 to 9.6 INPUT or battery voltage. That makes sense to me as more 'hitech' gizmos today are '3 volt' devices meanwhile older RC stuff ran off 7.2 or 9.6 nicad packs.
I'd really like to 'see' the output signal with a scope though.

It's worth understanding that the inputs to RC servos, are 'TTL' type inputs, so accept anything over about 2v as a logic high. Most modern RC radio outputs only give about 3v.
Realistically to get this seen by the CCP or timer, you need to either be using a low voltage PIC at 3.3v, or run your existing PIC at this lower voltage (it is rated to run at this voltage).
The Spectrum receiver here uses 3.3v logic internally, running off a LDO regulator. I've used another model from the same company, and their UK operation is only a few hundred yards from me, and I did some logic a while ago for them....

Hi Ttelmah
That's interesting and could well explain my problems. Fortunately, the simple way works flawlessly!

Thanks again for your help.

Brian
